Role Summary/Purpose

The

Project Engineer is responsible to deploy industry leading power grid software

technology for real-time advanced management system in generation, transmission

and distribution utility projects. This is a project engineering role with

strong customer focus to apply innovative technology to improve grid stability,

modernization and energy efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

* EMS, DMS or OMS system delivery (directly or through

supervision of professional band engineer)

* Have full responsibility of software application

installation, configuration and troubleshooting

* Contribute to software solution customization and

implementation

* Database installation and configuration

* Windows or Linux server configuration to support GE

applications

* Script development to support project execution and delivery

* Systems implementation and acceptance testing Pre-FAT/FAT /SAT (on site, with the client)

* Present or participate in technical exchanges, demos and

workshops with customer

* GE application problem analysis, and liaison with product

development team for resolution

* Work closely with delivery manager to ensure all systems

setup and configuration tasks are complete to achieve solution acceptance by

customer

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer

Science, or equivalent degree or equivalent work experience

* Minimum 4 year experience of EMS, DMS or OMS system delivery

* Minimum 1 year experiece of scripting languages such as Perl

/Python /PowerShell /VBScript

* Minimum 1 year experience of programming languages (C /C++ /

C# /Java)

Eligibility Requirements:

* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or

in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.

* Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

Desired Characteristics

* Experience in delivering GE e-terra or PowerOn systems

* Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server or IBM

Clearcase to manage source code

* Experience with software integration tools such as Jenkins

* Experience with RDBMS: Oracle, MSSQL Server

* Experience with virtual machine and virtualization (VMware,

Citrix, Hyper-V)

* Experience with web-based development such as RESTful/JSON,

Tomcat, Cassandra

* Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP)

* Prior complex IT project delivery experience

* Knowledge of IEC 101-104 Protocol or other industrial

protocols

* Knowledge of Windows or Linux System Administration

* RTU/Protocol Troubleshooting skills;

* Example of leadership or innovation qualities

* Good communication in English (both written and spoken) and

reporting skills

* Able to clearly articulate (in verbal and written forms) a

technical direction and plan with the project team

* Ability and desire to acquire knowledge and information on

the latest industry developments

* Ability to assess and learn emerging tools and technologies

and quickly apply them to meet development objectives

* Ability to work independently and be self-motivated

* Ability to work effectively in a team environment

* Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional

integrity

* Strong organization skills and capability to work on

multiple projects simultaneously

* Ability to work non-standard hours to accommodate business
