The Collection Strategy team is responsible for managing and developing the collection strategies focusing on the segmentations to categorize delinquent accounts for further collection actions, and optimize the treatments and operations to prevent charge off and improve collected amount. This responsibility encompasses strategy development, performance tracking and improvement.
The Project Manager role requires a strong analytical skill with understanding of collection process, the relationships between key business drivers as well as the overall impact on risk/reward trade-offs. Good communication skills are required as the individual will work closely with other business partners and need to present research and recommendations in an effective manner.
The project Managers responsibilities include:
o Optimize business return under business constraints by using statistical methodologies and data mining techniques on delinquent accounts
o Develop collection strategies to reduce roll rates, charge off rates and improve the business profit.
o Design and implement challenger tests to explore opportunities of improving current strategies.
o Work closely with implementation team to ensure the strategies are implemented accurately and are running as designed
o Establish and maintain effective performance tracking ensuring that strategies are performing as expected and provide recommendations of changes in a timely manner
o Present findings and recommendations to business partners and senior management
o Provide ad hoc analytical supports to business partners and senior management
o Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
o Minimum 3 years analytical experience, credit card industry experience preferred
o Extensive hands-on experience in data mining and strategy development
o Familiar with Collection, Risk Management and Credit Bureau common used data
o Understanding of collection processes and profitability calculations as well as the interrelationships among income, loss and cost
o Strong project management skills
o Extensive SAS and SQL programming skills, preferably in Unix environment
o Proficient in using Microsoft Office
