Duties and responsibilities:
* Partner with Technology to identify required data sources and data lineage
* Profile data sources using SQL and other data discovery tools in support of data quality analysis and business intelligence design efforts
* Ensure that appropriate data access controls, data quality controls and remediation plans are compliant with defined company standards
* Conduct data analysis in big data environments and being able to coordinate projects to fill the data lake
* Monitor metrics and dashboards to provide insights into data coverage, availability and usage and identify areas of opportunity or potential issues
* Monitor KRIs, controls, SLAs around business use of information (e.g. time-to-market metrics, data quality, security classification, glossary, approvals for data access, retention etc.) and execute on yearly goals
* Implement individual business use cases that require data integration efforts
Required skills:
* Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively to senior management
* Proven ability to prioritize and multitask
* Track record for strategic thinking and problem solving
* Strong SAS/SQL skills
* R/Python/Pig/Hive/Spark coding skills
* Strong knowledge in big data platforms like Hadoop, Aster, etc. and experience conducting data analysis in big data environments
* Expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
* Bachelors degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Finance, Math or related field with 4+ years of experience in Finance, Insurance, Banking or related industry
* Masters degree and 2+ years of experience in data management, data governance, MIS, Reporting, data analysis or modeling experience in Finance, Insurance, Banking or related industry
* Ability to conduct discovery, perform root cause analysis, and make recommendations for the remediation of data quality issues
* Experience with the analysis and design on enterprise data models
