The applicant should demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency in the area of enterprise software development. The position is also expected to ensure all software development adheres to Southern Company's Application Development guidelines and meets and/or exceeds quality expectations. The applicant should be an excellent problem solver and a self-starter. Some of the exciting projects will center around building out reusable services for native mobile applications. These include user authentication, in-app alerts, and authorization. Our goal is to create a mobile development path within Southern Company that is frictionless. Education / Experience Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college with a concentration in computer science or a related field Working knowledge and understanding of development technologies, methodologies and associated tools Experience developing and supporting mobile applications and integrations within an enterprise environment Job Responsibilities Develop and maintain mobile application development standards.This includes tools and related reusable services. Develop and/or implement timely, cost effective, and high quality business solutions to meet customer needs, using approved methodologies and standards Provide root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance / enhancements for existing applications Build and maintain relationships with peers, staff, management, other IT groups, and vendors Apply strong oral and written communication skills; apply strong customer service and negotiating skills; exhibit initiative; follow through with customer commitments; and apply sound performance techniques Manage personal career development by maintaining technical expertise and developing Southern Style Leadership characteristics Participate in special projects/assignments.This may include mobile development efforts and technology evaluations. Job Requirements Advanced knowledge of Swift and Objective C Experience with C# and Xamarin are a plus. Knowledge and understanding of software development technologies, methodology and associated tools Experience working with either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle. Working knowledge of application architectures (Web, Client Server, Command Line, Databases, etc.) Candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills Demonstrated technical writing skills.
