Role Summary/Purpose

The Project Manager Team Leader: Government will lead and direct project managers and teams in regards to the development and execution of Government projects; ensure customer satisfaction, develop relationships, protect the Company's position, maximize the projects objective, insure compliance with Government contractual requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Project Manager Team Leader, you will:

* Lead and direct project managers and related teams and insure overall execution for Government projects

* Communicate and implement the project strategy with project team members

* Ensure necessary support is obtained from Engineering and other functions in order to meet the project objectives and/or milestones

* Establish and agree on a schedule of activities leading to the completion of the contract with clear milestones, deliverables and acceptance defined criteria

* Produce and maintain the project management plan

* Ensure adequate progress and financial reviews are undertaken

* Keep Senior Management informed of project progression and highlights any major concerns / issues / successes as they arise

* Prepare and present formal presentations in order to communicate project progression, issues, risks and opportunities to management

* Manage the day-to-day interface with the customer and ensure all communication is effectively controlled

* Ensure the project team is effectively structured and the roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, coordinated and understood

* Work to ensure that the impact of claims and variations are limited / reduced

* Manage the changes, errors and omissions to reduce the effects on the project

* Ensure the Company's commercial and contractual position is not compromised


* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management or other technical discipline (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years in an engineering discipline)

* Minimum of 8 years of direct experience in an engineering industry, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management

* Ability to work effectively using program management and other tools on a personal computer for long periods of time

* Ability to analyze project financial data and make recommendations

* Able to interact and communicate with internal and external customers

* Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications

* Ability to make recommendations regarding job methods and departmental procedures

* Broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties

* Proven ability to interact and communicate with internal and external customers; internal customers include peers, management, and personnel from other departments and entities; external customers include clients, customers, and vendors

* Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications

* Strong working knowledge of Excel and MS Project, Primavera or similar scheduling application, required. Experience with database creation and operation, useful but not required

* Demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity

* Demonstrated self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the internal and external customers

* Ability to draft professional documents with no supervision

* Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals, essential
