Job Description
PwC's Business Advisory Services group is a distinctive practice that provides audit, technical accounting, tax, regulatory, compliance, valuation services, risk management, financial analysis and cashflow modeling, outsourcing, securities processing, payments, information risk and security, data quality, mergers and acquisitions, and other services. Our integrated knowledge enables us to help our clients design solutions that work.

The US actuarial services team consists of 175 credentialed life, health and non-life actuaries. We provide advice and consulting services to life and health insurers, non-life insurers, reinsurers, captives, banks, third-party administrators, regulators, agents and brokers, and bureaus and associations. We have extensive experience serving the domestic and international insurance industry, and assist insurers with actuarial modernization, process improvement, risk and capital management, value analyses, deals, and financial reporting.

PwC's Property and Casualty Actuarial Services team provides a broad range of commercially-focused services and solutions to:
- Personal, commercial and specialty lines insurers and reinsurers;
- Corporations that purchase commercial insurance or self-insure, including healthcare provision;
- Enterprises that run loyalty programs or offer extended warranty solutions.

We have extensive experience with underwriting, pricing, enterprise risk management, capital management and modeling, financial due diligence and valuation, ceded reinsurance strategy and modeling, claims cost management, transfer pricing, and other insurance-related issues for all lines of business. We also have extensive loss reserving knowledge and experience in all personal and commercial lines of business, including specialty lines such as workers compensation, professional liability, general liability, excess casualty and mortgage/financial guaranty.

Position/Program Requirements
Basic Qualifications: Demonstrates proven extensive knowledge of managing traditional loss reserving, including:
- Establishing and implementing engagement workplans,
- Conducting other risk-analysis related-projects in at least one of the following areas: Loss control, standard industry practices regarding claim reviews, claim evaluations, strategic planning and analysis; merger and acquisition valuations; reinsurance program review and expert witness testimony.

Demonstrates proven extensive abilities and record of success as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; participating in various staff recruitment and retention activities; and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback.

Minimum Years of Experience: 10

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related field

Degree(s) Preferred: Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related field

Knowledge Preferred:
Demonstrates proven extensive knowledge and success with utilizing detailed analytical and creative problem-solving skills to manage multiple, concurrent projects related to risk analysis and/or financial reporting in at least one of the following areas:
- Insurance coverage and claim operations,
- Reserve analysis;
- Mergers and acquisitions;
- Product design and pricing;
- Litigation support;
- Regulatory assistance;
­ Alternative markets;
­ Reinsurance;

- Current legal issues and allocation methodologies affecting claim evaluations.

Demonstrates proven extensive knowledge of, and success in claim adjuster or audit supervisorial/managerial roles within an insurance or reinsurance company involving, multiple insurance lines
Auto, GL, Workers Compensation, and Property, with particular emphasis in professional liability and A&E.

Skills Preferred:
Demonstrates proven extensive abilities and success managing efforts with identifying and addressing client needs: building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement; communicating value propositions; managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections; maintaining project economics while maintaining flexibility for unanticipated issues; and preparing complex written and verbal materials.
Demonstrates proven extensive ability and success with developing strategy; as well as writing, communicating, facilitating, and presenting cogently; to and/or for all levels of industry audiences, clients and internal staff and management, which includes the following:
­Journal articles;
-Practice methodologies and tools;
-Whitepaper drafts and presentations; and,
-Other standard business communications.

Proven experience as a claim adjuster, supervisor and manager of an insurance and/or reinsurance company with audit experience.
