We are looking for a strong writer with a passion for storytelling to join our corporate communications team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate stories and content for media pitches, blogs, videos and employee intranet
  • Work with other groups and functions throughout the company to research and develop compelling stories for internal and external use
  • Contribute content to Applied's social media channels
  • Manage development of communications content
  • Expand Applied's reach by fostering relationships with new reporters and influencers

Functional Knowledge
  • At least 5-7 years prior PR agency or corporate PR/communications experience and/or a journalism background
  • Strong writing skills are a must
  • Internal communications and/or employee engagement expertise is desired
  • Ability to translate complex technologies into compelling stories for a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Video production skills/knowledge is a plus

Business Expertise
  • Semiconductor/technology industry expertise is a major plus (although it is not required)

Leadership
  • Provides guidance to team members with less experience; leads projects with minimal oversight
  • Represents the corporate communications team in projects involving other departments, areas of the Company, and/or with the public

Problem Solving
  • Strong decision making skills; ability to come up with creative solutions to challenges as they arise
  • Creative thinker; takes a new perspective on existing solutions and processes
  • Energetic, motivated and passionate
  • Enjoys meeting people/working with multiple groups within the company
  • Good sense of humor
