‒ PhD in a scientific subject e.g. vaccinology, immunology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry or veterinary sciences
‒ 5(+) years' direct experience of managing publications in a vaccines or pharma company
‒ Prior experience using the Datavision platform to manage publications
‒ Familiarity with publication-related guidelines and good practice
‒ Prior experience facilitating the R&D publication process including the review and interpretation of scientific data
‒ A strategic approach to publication planning
‒ Ability to operate in a complex environment and manage multiple stakeholders
‒ Highly collaborative team player
‒ Ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and concise manner
‒ Ability to work across different geographies, cultures and functions
The Publications Manager will lead the delivery of peer-reviewed non-clinical research (R&D) publications in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams of experts.
‒ Serving as the single point of contact for non-clinical research publications in the USA, advising on publications strategy and establishing and implementing the Publications Plan USA
‒ Coordinating publication development and delivery from start through to publication in peer-reviewed journals or presentation at congresses using Datavision (specific software) to track progress
‒ Coordinating authorship discussions and appropriate review to ensure high quality manuscripts, congress activities (abstracts, posters, presentation), book chapters etc and coordinating responses to peer-reviewers
‒ Ensuring that appropriate guidelines are followed
In this role, the manager works closely with GSK experts, external collaborators and the other members of the Publications Team
