The Public Sector Federal System Integrator team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Technology Strategist (ATS). The Federal SI team manages the “Sell To” relationship with Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, SAIC and MITRE. This is an outstanding opportunity for a top performing individual. Primary focus will be on supporting General Dynamics and SAIC and there will be an opportunity to partner with fellow team ATS’ at other accounts.
As an ATS on this team you will be responsible to (1) build and maintain “trusted advisor” relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Enterprise Architects, and IT Directors, (2) drive adoption of Microsoft products and solutions, and (3) identify new opportunities for MS within the account. The ATS works closely with the Account Executive, Solution Specialist, STU, MCS and Partners to help define and execute territory and account strategies. You will be responsible for developing the account technology vision and strategy to support the overall business objectives for Microsoft and customers. You will lead technical resources in communicating the value of Microsoft’s products, solutions and partners, and drive relationships with technical leaders from senior executives and down. You will continue to develop yourself as a technical leader at Microsoft and in your community, and develop key relationships with Microsoft product teams.
To be successful in the role you must have technical expertise, effective communication abilities, persuasive presentation skills, and superior customer focus. The ATS serves as a key player on the sales team, educating the customer on the value of a Microsoft Solution and delivering a positive experience through onsite discussions, briefings, evaluations and Proof-of-Concepts with impeccable follow through. In addition, you will assist the Account Executive in formulating and executing the team’s sales strategy in meeting revenue goals and winning strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate has an overall passion for technology within a sales environment and for the business value it drives, the ability to think and act independently, and do what’s necessary to meet the customer’s expectations. You should have a successful technical sales professional track record, understand Microsoft solutions, Microsoft licensing, and experience in the Commercial, Public Sector and Federal marketplaces.
•Requires 5+ years’ experience in a technical sales role and/or software support role
•Strong sense of initiative and willing to be accountable for success.
•Broad technical knowledge with deep experience - ideally inside and outside Microsoft.
•Good personal network inside Microsoft and knowledge of how to get things done Broad and/or in-depth knowledge and technical expertise across the Microsoft service and product line.
•Experience with deployment of infrastructure products and selling the vision of the Cloud is required
•Strong customer relationship and interpersonal skills
•Ability to quickly learn new technologies used at Microsoft.
•Flexibility and a positive attitude to change.
•Strong competitive intelligence and strategy skills.
•Strong prioritization and objection handling skills.
•Previous work experience in the Public Sector is preferred but not mandatory.
•Knowledge of Microsoft licensing preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.
•Must be available for travel 25% of the time for territory travel, training, sales conferences, etc.
•The preferred location for this role is Chevy Chase or Reston where the majority of the team you will be supporting is located.
•However, exceptionally strong candidates in remote locations may be considered.
