(PUBSEC) FED - Account Tech Strategist

Microsoft Federal is seeking an Account Technology Specialist working within Microsoft’s Federal Sector in a pre-sales engineering role focusing on Civilian Government Cabinet level agencies. The Account Technology Specialist (ATS) provides technical leadership across the Civilian government accounts. The successful Account Technology Specialist has deep technical knowledge in and operational experience with Microsoft infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Systems Management Server, or Microsoft Identity Management Services and will also have a strong understanding of the Microsoft collaboration platform as well. Strong communication and presentation skills are required, and an ability to articulate the advantages of Microsoft technology to senior business and technical decision makers as well as front-line technologists. Experience with competitive technologies is desired. The ATS has demonstrated an ability to establish strong relationships with senior technical and business leaders within our customer base. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to understand highly complex technical and business challenges that systems integrators and government customers face. The position requires an ability to work well in a “virtual team” environment and possess strong communication and leadership skills. The candidate must be a self-starter who can take ownership of opportunities, work independently and/or by assembling and leading Microsoft partners, other Technical Specialists and Microsoft consultants as needed.

Key responsibilities include:
•Work closely with the account managers and other virtual team members to develop winning technical strategies to increase adoption of Microsoft technology.
•Work with executive level management to map IT to business initiatives.
•Build “proof of concept” solutions that demonstrate that the capabilities of our products solve actual customer problems.
•This requires an ability to lead a virtual team of technical and business colleagues to craft the appropriate solution.
•Provide timely and useful feedback to the product groups.
•Travel required 50+%

Core Qualifications/ Experiences Required:
•Qualifications should include 5-10 years industry experience. Experience in the Government vertical would be an asset.
•A solid understanding of Microsoft technologies, strategic direction, business value and competitive solutions is required.
•This individual is a strong team player that works well within a team environment.
•Must have the ability to establish relationships at all levels and must ultimately work to become a strategic advisor on technology directions and solutions within the account.
•The ideal account technology specialist should have knowledge of the Federal market, systems integrators, the customer, Microsoft strategy and solutions.
•The successful candidate must be able to articulate the business value of our scalability, availability and management solutions and position them in competitive scenarios.
•The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and presentation skills with the ability to convey the advantages of Microsoft technology to senior business and technical decision makers as well as front-line technologists.
•Ability to position and sell consulting services a plus. BA/BS degree, technical discipline preferred.
•TS/SCI W/lifestyle polygraph required.
•Reporting: This Account Technology Specialist will report to the Federal Civilian ATU Manager.
