As the Purchasing Assistant, you will report to the Director of Purchasing and will assist in ordering and prompt delivery of products for regional stores. You will be responsible for negotiating the quality and pricing of products and their delivery. You will keep track of current buying trends and use your analytical skills to forecast coming trends. Cost effectiveness and the maximization of both sales and profitability are your objectives in this fast paed position. Ideal candidates will:
*Be Master Users of Microsoft Excel, and proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
*Have excellent data entry skills.
*Be adept at maintaining computer software programs.
*Be an effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Have proficiency with basic Math skills.
*Be able to negotiate with global suppliers to ensure the on-time delivery of quality products, including produce.
*Be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and foster teamwork.
*Have meticulous attention to detail.
*Be able to work independently in time sensitive, deadline-driven atmosphere.
*Associate's Degree Preferred.
