As a QA Analyst, you will be responsible for laboratory testing of ingredients and finished product prior to being released to distribution.  You will gather samples and work in the QA Lab testing for protein, fat and moisture utilizing testing equipment and some wet chemistry. Additionally you will perform sensory evaluations of in process and finished products.  This is an integral part of our Quality Program.

Davenport, IA is home to Purina's largest manufacturing facility with 75 buildings on its campus and over 400 employees - many of whom have remained part of the Purina Family for decades.  Nestlé Purina's Davenport factory has been a fixture within this Midwestern city since 1927. Currently, the Davenport factory is one of Nestlé Purina's eight dry pet food factories within the U.S. and produces several varieties within the following brands: Dog Chow, Puppy Chow, Alpo, Beneful, Purine ONE, Cat Chow, Kitten Chow, Friskies, and Kit N Kaboodle.

Must be willing to work weekends, backshifts, and required overtime to support a 24/7 QA Laboratory.


Pull samples of ingredients, in-process and finished product using various test methods and analyze and communicate results

Perform physical and sensory evaluations of in process and finished product.

Work closely with Team Leaders and Team Members in the production and warehouse departments. 

Use various software applications for data entry, investigation and analysis.

Maintain lab instrument calibrations.

Review food safety, regulatory, and quality test results prior to releasing finished goods for shipment

All other duties as assigned.

Education:  HS Diploma or GED Equivalent

Experience (Years/Type):  HS Diploma or GED Equivalent with a minimum of 2+ years working in quality, a lab or related environment OR a Degree in a related science discipline 

1+ years of experience in food manufacturing is preferred
