Oracle | Opower is looking for a top notch QA Engineer to help support our global utility clients in their goal of energy efficiency programs and customer engagement. Help us engage the millions of people who are in the dark about their energy use!
As a Quality Engineer at Oracle | Opower, you will work with a team to ensure the quality and correctness of a SaaS-based energy efficiency and customer engagement programs on behalf of our utility partners. You will collaborate with a diverse group, including a Project Manager, a Implementation Engineer, as well as members of the Product Engineering and Product Management. We're looking for an enthusiastic, do-anything person who can help our team bring on new partners faster, with fewer issues, and drive a quality-focused agenda across diverse teams.
Our QA's rely on a diversified technical skill-set, including: data manipulation via complex SQL queries, experience on the Linux command line, shell scripting, and git version control system. We do not expect you to immediately be masters of the full spectrum of technologies used, but through on the job training and coaching, you will gain the necessary skills required to help launch energy efficiency programs for new utility clients.

Deliver bug free projects: Ensure quality of a variety of energy efficiency products, configurations and program design implementations.
Improve test plan documentation and automation: Continuously update existing test plans and add new ones as necessary. Write automated test scripts.
Prioritize tasks appropriately: Work with senior members of the team to understand what is important to deliver a high quality client program in order to make good decisions about what to test, how deeply to test it, and the risks incurred by not testing.
Be a subject matter expert of the Oracle | Opower product suite: Become an expert on the suite of Opower products, their capabilities, and requirements to deploy.
• 2 years of experience as a QA Engineer.
• Have experience with both front-end and back-end testing
• Should be skilled at using SQL database
• Should have experience working in a UNIX environment
• Technical hands-on troubleshooting skills and ability to learn quickly
• Ability to translate technical concepts to a non-technical person
• Some programming experience is highly desired
• Having experience with test automation is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree (Math, Physics, Computer Science, Business, or Engineering preferred)
Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with Oracle methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer specifications.
Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.
2-5 years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
