Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
  • Supervise all laboratory activities including physicochemical (i.e.: Brix, Caffeine, TA, CO2, etc.), microbiological, and sensory tests.
  • Provides technical and process knowledge for water treatment/waste water, product batching, product testing, package testing and supplier capability

  • Maintains site Food Safety Plan and supports QC manager in food safety audit preparation and execution
  • Maintains Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to micro/sanitation, and pest control chemicals
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of production equipment (processing and packaging equipment) and its' related impact on overall quality
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of process improvements and technical developments
  • Understands and trains others in product characteristics, attributes and Quality Control testing procedures
  • Responds to and proactively reduces consumer complaints by identifying root cause issues
  • Utilizes sound judgment in customer and consumer issues and possible crisis management
  • Sets QC technicians and batchers performance standards providing coaching and feedback to build capability
  • Builds QC technicians capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for all front-line hourly personnel
  • Ensures compliance with all Health & Safety regulations
  • Handle raw material (concentrate, CO2, Sugars, etc.) inventory and their reconciliation
  • Adheres to quality and food safety requirements established within the company's FS&Q policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other special assignment or project as requested by department manager.


Qualifications/Requirements

Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of +5 years relevant experience, preferably in a high speed manufacturing environment

Work Experience:
  • Demonstrated strong quality control laboratory technicians supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in Quality Control required
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act preferred

Skills & Capabilities:
  • Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and influence management skills
  • Incumbent must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks without losing momentum while also completing all daily tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends
