Our Capital Markets team manages the interest rate and operational risks associated with the origination, sale and servicing of mortgage loans, and provides liquidity for the mortgage assets originated by Wells Fargo.

The Capital Markets Group has an opening within the Decision Quality Management team for a Quality Control Specialist 1. This position will complete repetitive review tasks required to be in compliance with government, investor and Wells Fargo audit policies.

  • Performs a variety of operational tasks for a moderately complex process.
  • Uses multiple online systems and applications for tracking and audit compliance.
  • Contact employers by phone to verify employment by verbal or written communication.
  • Coordinate information gathered from various websites (credit, research, etc.), databases, borrowers and vendors.
  • Data entry into Solace.
  • Performs entry level general operations tasks that are routine and/or repetitive in nature.
  • Other responsibilities will include helping reverification.
  • Assists with special projects (e.g. request appraisals, trade lines, etc.) or other duties as assigned.


Hours: First Shift Hours with start time as early as 7:00am. Flexibility with hours dependent on business need.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ months of experience meeting deadlines in a business or office environment

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to assess current processes/procedures and make recommendations for efficiency
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

Job Expectations

  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
