Eaton’s Power Distribution and Control Assemblies division is seeking a Quality Manager. The Quality Manager will be based at our Fayetteville, NC facility. 

Position Overview:

To improve organizational effectiveness through the coordination and deployment of the Eaton Business System to ensure the business meets growth, productivity, and quality objectives.  Specific responsibilities will be Quality Management System (ISO9001) deployment, 8D corrective action, Eaton Quality System and to lead the plant’s effort to further mature in the Eaton Business Excellence criteria. The Quality Leader is a member of the plant leadership team and reports to the Plant Manager.

Essential Functions:
  • Drive continual improvement in the Eaton Business Excellence process throughout the organization.
  • Drive continual quality improvement through the Quality Management System.  Influence and drive resources to resolve customer quality issues, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Identify strategic directions and actions to drive improvement in quality performance, and to meet increasing customer expectations.
  • Identify and eliminate process variations resulting in external and internal failures through 8-D corrective action, Six Sigma, LEAN tools, and other Quality Management System tools and processes.
  • Responsible for quality engineering which provides maintenance of line support, and quality plan deployment.
  • Drive continual process improvement.
  • Ensure that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system and any needs for improvement.
  • Responsible for overseeing all quality assessments including from customers, internal Eaton, and outside agencies.
  • Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • All Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of five years experiencing in manufacturing and/or engineering
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a supervisor or leadership role
  • Authorized to work in the US without Company Sponsorship.

Position Criteria:

  • Utilization of extensive knowledge of Divisional policies, objectives and procedures regarding detection and analysis of product nonconformance to specification.  Use of statistical quality control and Eaton Engineering systems to drive toward zero defects and lower warranty.
  • Thorough knowledge of cost control techniques as they apply to the total quality concept, budgeting and fixed asset planning for return on investment.
  • Strong communications and internal consulting skills necessary to establish and maintain effective work relationships with the various plant functions and Division staff, customer and supplier personnel, and to promote and motivate employee involvement in, and acceptance of, new methodologies, etc.
  • Organizational Change Management, Quality Management System standards (i.e. ISO/TS 16949:2002, etc.), Interpersonal Communications and Leadership Skills Development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic planning and project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree and/or MBA.
  • Black Belt Certification
  • Strong Six Sigma process improvement knowledge and experience
  • Experience with product assurance methods, quality management systems and ISO.
  • ASQ CQM or CQE certified
  • Electrical industry experience
  • Proven track record of leading and managing quality initiatives that have resulted in improved productivity and reducing cost of non-conformance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience in managing a quality function and building organizational capability in that function
