Quality / Process Engineer ($70K - $80K) San Diego, CA A regional, San Diego based, high profile retailer is searching for an Engineer to focus on customer, distribution center, and supplier quality activities. The position has fantastic opportunity for an advancing quality engineer to apply their education and recent experience to develop, from the ground up, a robust set of quality planning, control, and improvement systems. Preferred experience within a consumer product manufacturer and retailer with a heavy focus on cosmetic attributes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Drives rapid and effective resolution of supplier and customer quality issues through application of problem solving methods Investigates complaints regarding product quality or reliability and works with cross-functional teams to conduct failure analysis to determine root cause Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented Provides direct communication to the customer and serves as the primary quality assurance representative for Jerome's Develops and maintains professional relationships with key internal customer liaisons and supplier contacts Facilitates internal process audits to ensure compliance to established procedures and processes. Contributes to process design improvements and corrective actions based on audit results. Provides visibility to the entire organization of key quality metrics Communicates product quality issues to distribution center operations, supplier managers, merchandising and various other key stakeholders Participates in supplier and 3rd party contractor audits Essential skills and experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required. Knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Strong problem solving skills including proactive root cause identification and resolution Experience in tracking, analyzing, and reporting quality data Familiarity with and/or experience within a Document Control System or Department Must have experience training employees, across functions of the business, to the Quality systems developed. Ability to lead cross functional quality improvement teams to plan and execute projects on time and within budget. Ability to participate as a team member of cross functional operational improvement initiatives. Working knowledge of basic statistics, Statistical Process Control, capability analysis, measurement system analysis, and ANSI Acceptable Quality Limit sampling with the majority of your experience specific to attributes and visual inspection methods.
