A Quality Technician job in St. Cloud, Florida is available through Adecco Engineering and Technology. Ideal candidate must have mechanical aptitude and have knowledge of ISO. The Quality Technician will maintain quality control testing procedures, practices, and standard evaluation methods that will ensure product quality and integrity. This position will utilize and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to help analyze, control, and minimize product variations. This new quality role will identify the root cause of product/process nonconformance to specifications as well as assist or lead containment and corrective action activities.
Quality Technician job responsibilities include:
Maintain gage and test equipment calibration and management database.
Field complaint investigation and corrective action.
Make simple repairs to equipment as needed.
Perform rework to non-conforming product.
Troubleshoot particularly complex or troublesome production problems; e.g., manufacturing process variation.
May lead or take part in formal problem solving teams including completion of Corrective Action requests.
Look up blueprints on computer, read and understand tolerances, key product features and how to measure.
Perform basic dimensional inspections of parts utilizing calipers, micrometers, and various other hand held gauges.
Create, understand, and define statistical reports; e.g., histograms, control charts, etc.
May suggest design changes or recommend improvements in production methods through FMEA team or other methods as appropriate.
Conduct mathematical calculations of moderate complexity.
Support manufacturing's Nonconforming Material Process as Required.
Organize and direct quality spill and containment activities.
Assist with standardized work training and audits.
Perform internal ISO audits as directed.
Perform part audits.
Clear communication of quality issues.
Associates degree or post high school equivalent education in a specialized technical/scientific field is desired.
Five or more years of experience in quality control and dimensional inspection techniques.
Seek and maintain certification: ASQ Quality Auditor/Inspector/Technician
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations and basic statistics.
Knowledge of ISO is preferred.
Commitment to health and safety.
Proficient knowledge of PC software including the latest Windows software applications.
Experience with data mining and ability to collect and transfer the information into presentable formats (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Working knowledge of Blueprint and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Knowledge of pertinent manufacturing techniques.
Verbal, written, and computer graphic communication skills necessary to effectively present data and information to internal and external customers, including management and engineering.
Thorough knowledge of inspection techniques, metrology methods, tolerances (metric and SAE), blueprint reading, routings, S.P.C. techniques, personal computers, and general shop practices.
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to reason through problems and suggest workable solutions.
Ability to guide supervision in making proper decisions relative to product and process control issues.
Ability to perform duties independently consulting supervisor for only occasional exceptions.
Must be able to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to be flexible and able to control diverse priorities and assignments.
