IBM is seeking a Research Staff Member to work at its T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.
You will work as part of a team of theoretical and experimental physicists, computer scientists, and engineers on the quantum computing effort at IBM. You should have proven experience in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing. Should be comfortable implementing quantum algorithms, making resource estimates, and writing and using modeling, simulation, and/or optimization software for these goals. A demonstrated record of research oriented toward novel fault tolerance protocols, overhead reduction, circuit optimizations, and/or incorporating realistic, experimentally-motivated constraints into fault-tolerance protocols is highly-preferred.
Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required. U.S. Citizenship is required.
