Position Summary : Under the general supervision of the Radiology Director, Medical Director and the RN Radiology Coordinator, the Radiology RN assists with patient care in diagnostic, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Mammography, and Interventional procedures. May also be assigned to assist with Gamma Knife following appropriate screening and training. Assisting with CAPPS following appropriate orientation. This is achieved by performing nursing patient assessment in accordance with the guidelines established by the facility. The Radiology RN maintains accurate documentation of patient data while in the radiology department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of patient physiologic monitors and performs emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed. Will instruct and aid in the training of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine students in clinical nursing practices. Rotating standby call for interventional procedures is a requirement of this position .
Minimum Requirements :
Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and or Bachelor's Degree in Science in Nursing
Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications: Current and valid license from the Missouri Board of Nursing.
BLS required upon hire and maintained. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Knowledgeable in handling controlled medications in Radiology according to hospital protocol.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year work experience in critical care unit including experience in monitoring patient's vital signs including cardiac rhythms.
