Radiology Technologist - Nights

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is part of St. David's HealthCare , one of the largest health systems in Texas, which was recognized with a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2014. The 378-bed multi-specialty, acute care facility is dedicated to the highest level of women's health services, including maternity and newborn care with Level I, II and III nurseries at the adjacent St. David's Women's Center of Texas . The facility also features a 24-hour emergency department, the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery , the Bariatric Center, heart and vascular center, neurology and neurosurgery, a kidney transplant program, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and acute inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, among many others. Position Summary:
Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performances of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age-specific needs.

Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.

4 - tens, overnight; Monday - Thursday, 8:30 pm to 7 am
Knowledge & Skills:
Must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform all radiology procedures including diagnostic, fluoroscopy, ER, and portable exams. Must work
well with others in a busy imaging department. Must be customer oriented to provide outstanding services to patients, physicians, visitors and co-workers.
Maintains awareness of patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity at all times. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and North Austin Medical Center.

Required: Graduate of a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or a military training program of equivalent standards OR must have attained A.R.D.M.S certification prior to 2004.
Preferred: One year previous experience in x-ray department. Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology.

Required: Certified Texas Department of Health Medical Radiologic Technologist Must have current basic CPR certification. Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. BLS certification as per SDH policy.
