Summary of the Job:
Under direct supervision, performs and documents simple technical functions relating to test, layout, quality control, fabrication, modification and assembly of mechanical equipment and/or components. Performs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical or test technician duties in such areas as manufacturing, maintenance, quality, testing, engineering, and development where limited judgment is required. Constructs, inspects, calibrates, adjusts, tests and maintains equipment, components, devices and systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
This position is considered entry level into the technician career ladder.
Performs and documents basic and simple repairs, testing, maintenance, fabrication, inspection, calibration of components, instruments, test apparatus and associated specific discipline equipment.
Performs basic operational diagnostic testing, troubleshooting and debugging of components, subassemblies and manufacturing systems, processes and equipment to isolate faults and determine remedy and repair.
Sets up, adjusts and operates basic laboratory/manufacturing equipment.
Performs simple process/product tests and audits for conformity to quality and/or regulatory requirements.
Conducts basic and simple tests and evaluations, experimental testing and investigates design proposals under operational conditions. Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data for engineer review.
May troubleshoot electrical, test, mechanical, facilities or hydraulic systems, components, and equipment.
May assist more senior technicians and engineers in specific discipline.
Performs self‑inspections of own work.
When applicable, follows standard operating procedures for all tasks.
Maintains clean and orderly work area.
Has completed all appropriate safety and environmental hazard training.
Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma an asset. Must have a minimum of 5 years technician experience required. Must possess strong written and oral English communication skills required
This position is located in Irwindale, CA and may require up to 5% domestic and international travel.
