Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) is one of the company’s four main divisions. WIM businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. We help our clients by developing individualized plans for everything from retirement goals to business succession planning, to family legacy intentions. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement.

Regional Banking Managers are members of the Business Development Group (BDG) team who support Field Leadership and Financial Advisor’s (FA’s) through the analysis and advice of Wells Fargo Lending and banking products and services. The Regional Banking Managers are responsible for effectively coaching and mentoring field-based business development professionals located throughout the United States. The primary focuses of the team may include but are not limited to: securities backed lending, residential real estate, HNW lending, business banking, commercial lending, Practice management, client acquisition and productivity tools. The Regional Banking Manager may also support other initiatives on ad hoc basis. Regional Banking Managers have a dual-reporting relationship with Private Client Group (PCG) leadership and Client Experience and Growth management. This role will primarily support the Private Client Group channel.

The Regional Banking Managers (RBMs) are responsible for:
Collaborating across Wells Fargo Advisors and Wells Fargo Bank N.A .to serve our clients on all of their lending and banking needs.
Business development around key products and services that include securities backed lending, residential real estate, HNW lending, business banking, commercial lending.
Coordinating, guiding and supporting a team of Regional Banking Directors who support the Field Leadership and Financial Advisors (FA’s) in their assigned territory.
Team responsible for building product awareness and educating our field leadership and financial advisors so they can serve the needs of our clients
Building, maintaining, and leveraging Wells Fargo partnerships across territory such as Home Mortgage Consultants and Private Bankers to name a few
Developing strong working relationships with Regional Presidents, Market Managers, Branch Managers, and Financial Advisors.
Developing and maintaining a deep working knowledge of the WFA Banking platform, Advisory product suite, Investing Planning tool (Envision) and desktop productivity tools.
Developing and implementing an annual business strategy
Maximizing opportunities to help clients through customizing activities to meet the needs of each region.
Partnering with FAs to resolve issues and questions that arise
Participating in group meetings and conference calls
Leading and executing on lending and banking activities at the regional and market/complex level, as well as, managing travel and expenses effectively across your team
This position is a player-coach role. This manager will also have a territory to cover as an individual contributor.
This position covers New York, Short Hills, Red Bank, Westport, Melville, and Princeton. Applicants must currently reside near the specific locations listed on the requisition or be willing to relocate with limited or no financial assistance in order to be considered.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of financial services experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 7 exam to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents)

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of brokerage industry experience
  • 5+ years of business development experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial planning: tools and advisory services
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services consumer lending products
  • Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations
  • Experience training and coaching customer-facing team members
  • Experience partnering with full-service financial advisors and branch managers on alternative products and service solutions

Job Expectations

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
