Regional Sales Manager

The Field Management National Sales Group is responsible for driving revenue growth nationally across all product areas excluding banking. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager ("RSM") is responsible at a regional level for all sales activity across products. These responsibilities are both strategic (e.g., identifying market opportunities, developing a plan and executing in partnership with home office, regional management and local resources and tactical (e.g., "get things done", delivering results against specific targets) in nature. RSMs must strategically drive and coordinate sales activity in a manner that is consistent with Morgan Stanley's values and well-aligned with clients' individual objectives.

  • Hire and manage a regional sales team (~10-18 sales people)
  • Partner with Regional Management to identify and pursue opportunities, and deliver against specific regional and product sales targets that meet clients' needs

Additional requirements may include:
  • RSM and their sales team will be expected to reside within their respective regions

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent work experience
  • 15 years proficiency in financial markets and financial products
  • 15 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or comparable commercially-oriented activities
Licenses and Registrations
  • Active Series 7, 24, and 63, 65 (or 66)
  • Deep understanding and familiarity with Morgan Stanley's branch network and Financial Advisors
  • Strong relationships and demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner across Field Management (RD's, Complex and Branch Managers), Senior Management, Product Teams, and WMIR
  • Proven track record of driving results in a leadership role
  • Very "flexible", well rounded skill set (strategic, tactical)
  • Well-recognized leader, culture carrier, and experienced manager, with a demonstrated track record of building, leading, motivating, and managing teams of highly motivated and highly functioning individuals
