Medical City North Hills is licensed for 164 beds and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission. North Hills also has Disease Specific Certification by the Joint Commission for hip, knee, shoulder and cardiac service lines and we are a designated Level IV trauma center. Our specialty services and honors include being the first hospital in the U.S. to have a Cycle 4 Chest Pain Center and the first in North Texas to attain Cycle 5 accreditation. We have Primary Stroke Center certification by the Joint Commission and also specialize in total joint replacement and cardiac care. North Hills Hospital is a part of HCA .

We are currently looking to add a RN ICU Night Supervisor to our team.

POSITION SUMMARY :

Under the general supervision of the unit's Director or designee the Unit Supervisor assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit.

A. Assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift.
B. Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.
C. Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when s/he is on duty.

D. Makes decisions regarding activities within these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse. Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted; Texas State RN license required 30 days after hire
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit, preferred
  • Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.
  • Current BLS required, ACLS required for critical care departments.
  • Knowledge of TJC and Medicare standards.
