Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Tele - FT Nights
The Registered Nurse provides age appropriate care to his/her patients based on criteria that is age appropriate and is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. The Registered Nurse may rotate to other areas other than his/her normally assigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. The Registered Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at WESLEY WOODLAWN HOSPITAL & ER. The Registered Nurse displays positive support for WESLEY WOODLAWN HOSPITAL & ER as well as the entire HealthONE organization. The RN cares for the geriatric, adult, and adolescent patient populations.
Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process - assessment, care planning, implementation, and reassessment - for identified patient population per the Kansas Nurses Association
Documents patient care administered.
Promotes interdisciplinary communication and care. The delivery of care is based on the age, physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient.
Supervises contract RNs, LPN, MST, CNA, UC.
Cares for medical and surgical cardiac patients undergoing antiarrhythmic therapy, invasive treatments or procedures, cardiovascular surgery and patients with pulmonary disease, who require an intermediate level of care.
Monitors and assesses patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring (telemetry).
Manages patients requiring mechanical ventilation or IV Insulin therapy.
Provides postoperative care for cardiovascular surgery patients including coronary artery bypass, femoral-popliteal bypass, thoracotomy/lobectomy and abdominal aneurysm repair.
The Medical/Surgical Unit provides care to patients who no longer need, or do not need the level of care provided in the Intensive Care Unit, but requires a greater amount of care than that which can be provided on a general acute unit. Services provided include telemetry monitoring.
Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Kansas
Current BCLS Certification
Current ACLS certification
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
Acute care / hospital experience preferred, but not required.
One year experience in Telemetry or Step-down preferred, but not required
Demonstrates good organizational skills.
Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Standards of Nursing Practice at WESLEY WOODLAWN HOSPITAL & ER
Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills
Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
