The Apheresis Nurse is under the general supervision of the Director/Manager of BMT/Oncology program and/or Charge Nurse of Aphersis. The Apheresis Nurse assumes primary responsibility for performing all aspects of apheresis procedures while providing optimum nursing care in a safe environment. The Apheresis Nurse role models and promotes ICARE customer standards, adheres to SAMC/SDP Code of Conduct. During his/her designated shift.
LEVEL OF FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
LICENSED/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED ____X__YES _____NO
• Registered Nurse license by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. If compact license held, RN is required to obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of their hire date.
• ONS - (within 6 months of hire) - preferred
• OCN - preferred
Registered Nurse with two years Medical - Surgical-Oncology experience.
One year of dialysis or Apheresisor infusion care experience.
