The Financial and Regulatory Assurance group is a second line of defense group in the Controller's Organization within Corporate Finance. The Regulatory Assurance team is responsible for the independent verification of controls and processes over global regulatory reporting including Basel CCAR and RRP and areas of high risk and enhanced regulatory focus. The primary focus of the team is the review and assessment of the quality of information pertaining to reporting and compliance with relevant regulations and the assessment of relevant risk management programs.The team works closely with other functions across Finance Global Treasury Risk Management and Business Units as well as other assurance functions. Key responsibilities:

  • \t\tDemonstrate effective executive presence organization communication writing and presentation skills while coordinating with business team management to conduct control assessments and communicate results
  • \t
  • \t\tPlay an instrumental role in fulfilling the continuous enhancement and effectiveness of the company's Regulatory Assurance program including leadership of current ongoing initiatives
  • \t
  • \t\tAssist in developing and maintaining program standards and ensuring accepted auditing and testing techniques are maintained
  • \t
  • \t\tDemonstrate effective leadership in coordinating with business teams and other assurance functions to enhance control standards and testing
  • \t
  • \t\tDemonstrate the ability to effectively partner with management to continually re-assess risks and controls
  • \t
  • \t\tDemonstrate skill in collaboratively developing solutions to minimize control exceptions
  • \t
  • \t\tPlay a significant role in developing program scope and standards and assist in administration of the program
  • \t
  • \t\tMaintain and demonstrate strong auditing skills
  • \t
  • \t\tStay current with business operations accounting and corporate functions developments to understand the potential impact on internal controls within areas of assurance responsibility
  • \t
  • \t\tOversee the design and execution of assigned areas of reviews and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with enterprise policies and standards and regulatory requirements

  • \t\twith key constituency groups such as Regulatory Reporting Product Controllers Operations Treasury Technology and Risk
  • \t
  • \t\tDevelop subject matter expertise in regulatory requirements best practices and expectations
  • \t
  • \t\tIdentify and drive transformation efforts to continue to enhance the functionality of the Regulatory Assurance Program

  • \t\tProviding day to day coaching and guidance to teammates
Qualifications
    \t
  • \t\tBachelors' degree in accounting finance or a related field
  • \t
  • \t\tCIA CPA or CFA certifications or candidates preferred
  • \t
  • \t\t10-12 years of Audit Risk or Compliance experience preferably at a large financial institution
  • \t
  • \t\tExtensive knowledge of banking products and services especially loans deposits securities and derivatives
  • \t
  • \t\tStrong understanding of current accounting and regulatory reporting principles and policies particularly FR Y-14 FFIEC 101 FR Y-9C and the Call Report.
  • \t
  • \t\tDeep understanding and appreciation of the internal control environment.
  • \t
  • \t\tMust be proactive and goal oriented strategic thinker with ability to identify creative solutions
  • \t
  • \t\tStaying current with evolving industry and regulatory changes and analyzing impact to external reporting process and compliance.
  • \t
  • \t\tExceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities; able to develop and convey a point of view
  • \t
  • \t\tDemonstrated leadership capabilities with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all organizational tiers. A strong customer service mindset is a must.

  • \t\tAble to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; good presentation analytical project management and consulting skills.

  • \t\tDemonstrated ability to manage workloads and prioritize deliverables ability to be flexible
