Overland Park Regional Medical Center is one of the premiere medical facilities in Johnson County. The hospital is a licensed 343-bed facility offering acute and outpatient medical care services to the Overland Park community and the surrounding areas since December of 1978. Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Physical and Occupational Therapists and/or assistants, the Rehab Assistant assists in treatment. He or she also maintains the PT/OT department in a clean and orderly fashion. The Rehab Aide communicates appropriate patient information, assures adequate stock of supplies, and performs clerical and other duties as assigned.

The Rehab Assistant also prepares patients for treatment, assists the therapists in specific treatment procedures; monitors patient's status as appropriate; demonstrates a good working knowledge of treatment techniques. The Aide also transports patients to treatment areas as indicated.

The Rehab Assistant assist in departmental operations:
  • Maintain and clean department
  • Monitor supplies
  • Maintain equipment
  • File, fax, and perform other paperwork and clerical functions

The Rehab Assistant also:
  • Demonstrates good safety practices.
  • Assists with leading group activities.
  • Able to apply newly acquired knowledge/skills learned through departmental training sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :


Bachelor of Science degree in a health related field such as exercise physiology, exercise science or athletic training or Associate of Arts Degree or Certificate preferred; relevant work experience in a related field.

Special Skills Required:

  • Responsible for high degree of accuracy, judgment, problem solving and cognitive reasoning.
  • Discretion and integrity with regard to confidential information.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.


CPR certification recommended.
