We are excited to announce that at this time we are looking for Reimbursement Business Managers focused on Retina to join our team of over 10,000 global field representatives who help our healthcare clients deliver better solutions for their patients.

The Reimbursement Business Manager helps to minimize reimbursement barriers for patients and providers and, therefore, helps to optimize access to Santen products in the assigned therapeutic area. The RBM works closely with internal partners, supporting priority accounts through effective account planning/execution and helping resolve reimbursement issues or concerns. They also develop ethical and customer-oriented reimbursement tactics, and proactively communicate payer criteria/terms, policies and practices, as these relate to reimbursement for the assigned Santen products.
• Works with internal partners to review franchise, managed care, and divisional field sales business plans and objectives
• Proactively communicates and explains Santen-specific reimbursement programs, policies, procedures and resources
• Develops long-term & short-term strategic account plans focusing on patient access to Santen therapies
• Develops and shares local market insights with colleagues to better understand barriers impacting access to Santen therapies
• Acts as a subject matter expert on the payer landscape relevant to the assigned Santen therapeutic area/products
• Acts as a conduit between the Field and Home Office Santen functions for all public and private payer policies and practices that impact patient access to Santen products
• Assists Coverage & Reimbursement with individual case management needs
• Develops ethical and customer-oriented reimbursement tactics
• Trouble-shoots field account reimbursement issues, needs, concerns, or challenges
• Majority of time is spent via in-person customer interfacing/engagement
• Leverages all available resources including internal data to develop and execute account plans/call purpose.
• Proactively communicates and explains Santen-specific reimbursement programs, policies, procedures and resources
• Fluent in all patient support program resources and products
• Works with relevant state, institutional or other societies
• Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Santen activities
• Up to 70% Business travel, by air or car, is regularly required

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required
• MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred
• 5 or more years' work experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• A minimum of 2 years of direct experience with managed care and reimbursement is required, either directly within/from the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or relevant, large-scale practice management
• Must demonstrate excellent working knowledge of reimbursement and the practice management environment
• Previous experience in Ophthalmology is a plus
• Experience with buy and bill products is strongly preferred
• Experience supporting products with a Misc. J Code is strongly preferred
• Previous experience with both private & public payers is strongly preferred
• Previous experience in other functions in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is a plus, e.g. product marketing, managed care marketing, field sales/sales management, field account management, etc.
• Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding goals and objectives
• Previous experience in completing & implementing attainable business plans
