Relationship Management Specialist

This challenging role will support our Relationship Management team. The qualified candidate will be a proactive individual capable of working well in a team environment, providing support to Senior Relationship Managers (and their teams as needed) in all aspects of their roles. This individual will interact with clients on all inbound calls from home offices. This individual will interact with senior executives, team members within the department, with employees throughout New York Life, as well as with external business partners and contacts.

 

The position is based in our midtown Manhattan Home Office.

 

Primary Responsibilities                                                                                                                                               

  • Provide administrative support to team, including phone coverage, managing complex business calendar, expense reporting, and correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
  • Liaise within the department, across the organization and with external partners/vendors/associations.
  • Coordinate efforts to ensure that projects are delivered on time and schedules are adhered to on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Provide status on all projects including budget tracking, travel expenses, reporting and business administration needs for the department.
  • Assist in organizing, creating and following up on agendas, presentations, spreadsheets and related materials supporting Relationship Management.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, assisting in client relations, client communications, and day-to-day service and administrative needs.
  • Preparation of Relationship Management team weekly previews for both internal and external meetings.
  • Periodically act on behalf of senior managers and truly partner on solving complex client needs.
  • Responsible for logistical and contract review for client event planning.
  • Coordinate all document tracking and retention while ensuring their accessibility.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects and assignments as the business dictates.
  • The role requires a high attention to details as well as exposure to confidential information.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; Strong problem solving and negotiation skills; Strong ability to grasp concepts and processes; Ability to partner and influence
  • A self-starter able to multitask and set priorities
  • Detail oriented with strong follow-up skills
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • A willingness to work overtime, as necessary
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Lotus Notes
