The Reliability Lead - Engine Starting Products will provide reliability and maintainability support for the Unison starting products business. You will serve as the face of the starting products engineering team and starting products business for issues related to product reliability and maintainability. You will interface internally with the various engineering team disciplines and externally with all types of customers, from GE internal customers to end users around the world.
In addition you will :
+ Define and execute reliability programs by performing reliability risk analysis and prioritization, developing models to characterize and predict system performance, and defining reliability test strategies starting early in the product development cycle
+ Lead execution of reliability testing and drive test failure root cause and corrective action process with engineering design team;
+ Ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated on future designs and tests
+ Help capture new business opportunities by developing reliability and maintainability approaches to meet customer needs, participating in technical trade studies and generating cost estimates for reliability and maintainability support
+ Steer future technology roadmaps by participating in technology, design and methodology trade studies, and research and development programs
+ Promote a culture of engagement across the organization which emphasizes shared responsibility in achieving reliable and maintainable designs
+ Grow the organization's capabilities by sharing your knowledge of reliability and maintainability principles
+ Reinforce GE's reputation as an industry leading aviation supplier and system integrator by developing strong customer and supplier relationships
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Physics from an accredited University or College
+ A minimum of 3 years of experience in a reliability engineering position
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :
+ This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
+ Knowledge of reliability and maintainability as it is applied in the design, development and production of rotating equipment, preferably in an aviation environment
+ Experience designing and analyzing performing reliability predictions on mechanical systems, preferably rotating mechanical systems
+ Experience developing reliability test programs to demonstrate reliability growth, characterize product life and ensure product robustness
+ Experience using reliability prediction tools such as Relax or ReliaSoft
+ Lambda Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or Equivalent
+ Quality Experience working in a reliability evaluation role for multi-component systems
+ Knowledge of system safety as it is applied in an aviation environment to the design and development of electro-mechanical and mechanical systems and components
+ Knowledge of and experience working with aviation and industrial safety standards and agencies: e.g. FAA, EASA, CE, CSA, ATEX, etc.At GE Aviation, we are imagination at work.
