Job Summary

The will receives and process remittance payments from policyholders and applies to policies, contracts, and/or benefit plans within corporate and legal guidelines.


Job Description

  • Advanced level subject matter expert, subject to minimal supervision
  • Handles extremely complex and/or high dollar amount transactions for the unit and applies them to policies, contracts, and/or benefit plans
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Quality checks, reviews and evaluates work completed by lower level personnel for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Reviews results with associates and provides coaching tips
  • Balances, updates and runs scheduled and ad hoc reports for management and customers
  • Assists with updating departmental procedures manuals and communicates changes to other departments and customers
  • Recommends approved workflow and departmental procedures
  • Serves as a point of contact for escalated cases from staff and for interdepartmental inquiries
  • May handle multi-functional processes
  • Identifies and notifies team lead or training staff of training issues
  • Researches and resolves complex reconciliation, banking, billing, collection, or payment methodology problems
  • Processes remittance transactions as necessary
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of “Insurance/Billing” experience with 3-4 years of related “Remittance” work experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
