It is located in Cambridge, MA overlooking the Charles River walking distance from our collaborators at MIT. Position Overview: The Acute Care Solutions department researches meaningful and innovative solutions to help clinicians improve the care of acutely ill patients. The candidate will participate in a team developing a novel camera-based monitoring solution. His or her focus will be on computer vision based patient recognition. Currently enrolled in an accredited PhD program, completing MS, or enrolled in a PhD program starting in the fall of 2016. Candidates must: Have a BS and/or be completing a MS program in either computer science or biomedical or electrical engineering; course work includes software design and testing, and algorithm design and testing Have experience with: visual C/C++/C# signal and/or image processing computer vision machine learning and/or pattern recognition Be creative and inquisitive Like to experiment and be challenged Able to communicate effectively in English (both verbal and written) Experience in applying the above skills in the medical domain is a plus. MS degree and a thesis in a related field are a plus Experience with OpenCV, ITK, ultrasound imaging, and spatial tracking systems
