Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PRN Nights - New PRN Tier Program, Offering Increased PRN Hourly Rates & Flexible Schedule

Reston Hospital Center is seeking energized Respiratory Therapists to join our awesome Respiratory Team for a PRN position. We are looking for compassionate, knowledgeable and collaborative candidates who strive for clinical excellence and make patient safety a top priority. A minimum of two years acute related RRT experience is required to be eligible for PRN status. RRT certification from NBRC and current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia is also required. We have flexible scheduling to meet your lifestyle needs! Our new PRN Tier Options include:

Option 1:

  • Scheduled to work six 12- hour shifts (72 hours) per (8) week schedule, Four (4) weekend shift per schedule
  • Holidays: One (1) Minor Holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day) and One (1) Major Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's)

Option 2:

  • Scheduled to work ten 12-hour shifts (120 hours) per (8) week scheduled, Five (5) weekend shifts per schedule
  • Holidays: One (1) Minor Holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day) and One (1) Major Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's)

Shift and hours will be determined by the Respiratory Director or Supervisor and holidays will be assigned at the beginning of the calendar year or when agreement starts. Must be available for minimum of two shifts per week to complete Unit/Department orientation.

Administer/perform and document all established department services and special procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting all aspects of patient care. Therapist will work closely with all health care providers to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, quality health care. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of applicable patient growth and development, possess the ability to assess data reflective of patient's age-specific needs; and, have the ability to provide care needed by all treated patient group(s). Therapist will implement and/or comply with all the policies, procedures and standards of the department and the institution.
Education :
Graduate of an NBRC approved program for respiratory therapy, qualifying candidate for certification/registry.

License :
Current Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia

RRT from National Board Respiratory Care (NBRC); BCLS, NRP, ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.

Experience :
Two years of acute related Respiratory Therapist experience required.
