KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Uses mildly technical equipment requiring moderate expertise. Daily contact with nurses, therapists, other allied health personnel, as well as patients and visitors. Does not directly provide patient care. Occasional handling of confidential information.
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St. David's "Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.
1. Processes all RT equipment according to established procedures.
a. Disassembles equipment daily according to established procedures and transports this equipment to sterile processing.
b. Retrieves equipment from sterile processing daily and places in appropriate area for use.
c. Cleans, and/or cold sterilizes daily, and restocks equipment which cannot be sterilized by sterile processing.
d. Maintains a list of all rental equipment
e. Performs EKG's according to according to physician order in Meditech
2. Inspects oxygen equipment in use for usage rate, settings and proper function. Change out and replace equipment as necessary.
a. Performs oxygen rounds daily and records accurately according to the physician orders
b. Performs oxygen rounds daily and changes out equipment according to established procedures. (High Risk/High Volume)
c. Performs oxygen rounds daily and checks equipment in use for proper function. (High Risk/High Volume)
3. Completes patient oxygen and EKG charges daily.
a. Accurately charges oxygen when patients are discharged or discontinued from oxygen.
b. Accurately charges EKG's as completed in Meditech
4. Maintains stock supplies and advises supervisor or needed non-stock supplies.
a. Orders and maintains stock supplies and advises supervisor of back-order situations daily.
b. Advises supervisor of needed non-stock supplies weekly.
c. Maintains rental equipment and sends back when not in use
5. Maintains a clear work area.
a. Clears clutter from technician and equipment areas daily.
b. Wipes work surfaces daily with disinfectant.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
