  • Ensures retain samples are collected, stored and maintained in accordance with Johnson & Johnson procedures and regulatory agencies. Coordinates and executes all required tasks to maintain the Sample Retain Program for the Analytical QC laboratory.  Responsible for sample management of all retain samples (ex. Finished products, raw materials, and packaging components). Supports Complaint and Annual visual Inspections. Support the Annual Product Reviews and prepare retain samples for disposal.
  • Complies with cGMP’s and safety regulations. Maintains an environment of respect and teamwork with all coworkers.
  • Completes all requirements of the Retention programs according to standard operation procedures.
  • Maintains updated the Retain Program documentation and the inventory system. Ensures each sample in the Retain program has the proper lifecycle.
  • Inspect visually the retention samples related to consumer complaints and Annual Product Reviews.
  • Prepares reports related to Annual Product Reviews.
  • Prepares samples for disposal and coordinates destruction with Quality Assurance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.  Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related physical or biological science is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry. 
  • Strong analytical skills required. 
  • Preferred past experience in a Quality role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cGMP and other regulatory guidance relevant to pharmaceuticals, annual product reviews and inspection of pharmaceutical products is required.
