Project Analyst: Revenue Recognition (Fair Value) Group Overview:
The Revenue Recognition group ensures the consistent application of Oracle's Corporate Revenue Recognition Policies via the review of license, hardware, support, and professional services contracts globally. Within the Revenue Recognition group, the Fair Value team analyzes Oracle's transactions for its various offerings to document overall VSOE/BESP compliance while working within the framework of external and internal accounting guidance and SOX controls. Responsibilities:
As a Project Analyst within the Fair Value function/group you will participate with the other members of the Fair Value team in:
Maintaining and helping develop Oracle's overall Fair Value reporting (analysis of revenue and bookings). Running reports out of Oracle's various systems to compile data necessary to perform the various Fair Value studies (statistical pricing studies). Ensuring proper reporting and monitoring of our Fair Value compliance for products and services (software license, hardware product, cloud, post-contract support and professional services). Identifying areas of compliance concern, then working with the appropriate parties to ensure necessary action is taken to in resolve inefficiencies in business practices or pricing. Ensuring timely reporting of quarterly or biannual compliance studies. Such reporting will be provided to both internal (upper management, LOB, SOX) and external (auditors) customers. Participating in quarterly external audits, as well as annual internal audits. Leading or assisting in special projects as assigned. Collaborating with business practices and different service operations groups to ensure appropriate systems and business practices are in place to measure and maintain compliance. Reviewing and applying technical accounting changes that impact Fair Value, in order to maximize software/hardware revenue recognition while working within the framework of external and internal accounting guidance. Assisting the Fair Value, Revenue Operations, and Development teams in facilitating the automation of current processes and procedures. Work with RevRec M&A team assessing Fair Value accounting practices of acquired companies. Work with New Product team with regards to Fair Value concerns/issues with pricing and discounting in new product offerings. Transition Fair Value reporting requirements from ASC 605 (VSOE / BESP) to ASC 606 (Standalone Selling Price) as the basis of revenue allocation for multiple element arrangements. Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Accounting/Finance related emphasis with 5 years of financial analysis, revenue recognition (ASC 605 and ASC 985-605), familiarity with the new revenue standard (ASC 606), and/or other accounting/finance experience. MBA, CPA or CPA equivalent beneficial, but not required. Strong leadership, relationship development and people management skills to collaborate with different individuals across the organization. Must possess strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to interpret, present and explain complex accounting issues to various internal business contacts. Must possess strong time management skills, project organizational skills, and be self-motivated. Must be proficient in Excel functions (ex. formulas, pivots, and custom macros). Knowledge of Oracle Applications, Oracle Analytics, MS Access database, and SQL is a plus.

Ensures that revenue is recognized in accordance with Corporate and SEC standards. Provides direction to sales organization prior to contracts being concluded.
As a member of Revenue Accounting you will assist in the processing of revenue impacting adjustments and reconciling balance sheet account. Monitor revenue, reconcile receivables, and unearned accounts. Work with internal customers to resolve related revenue inquiries. Assist in facilitating the automation of current processes and procedures. You may participate in special projects.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Prefer strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups and management. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets is essential. Familiarity with Oracle Financials is essential. 8 years accounting experience and BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent.
