Float Pool Shift requirements are 6 shifts per month, 2 being weekend shifts. Opportunities available in Med/Surg and Critical Care Float Pools based on experience.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care to the Med/Surg Telemetry & Progressive care patients, and their designated support systems. The quality of care given in the Telemetry & Progressive care area will be in keeping with the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital and the Department of Nursing; will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.
The Registered Nurse prescribes, delegates and coordinates all nursing care and patient teaching provided throughout the hospital. The RN is responsible for meeting all standards associated with performance, nursing practice and nursing care. This is a highly visible role with a large degree of physician as well as patient interaction; strives to promote harmony of unit.
Provides and documents patient care based on the nursing process in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Plans, delegates and coordinates the nursing care of assigned patients.
Utilizes basic physical and psychosocial assessment skills to identify actual nursing diagnosis/clinical problems based on assessment of patient and unique age specific needs.
The Registered Nurse will work to support and protect the rights of each patient served, treats each patient with dignity and care, and maintains patient confidentiality/privacy.
Demonstrates commitment to patient safety initiatives including patient falls, medication safety, National Patient Safety Goals, critical value reporting, and administration of blood products.
Provides appropriate patient/family education, per department and hospital policy and procedures.
Required Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Level entry training may be a Diploma Program in Nursing, an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Required License/Certification: -Florida RN License
-American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider
-CPI within 6 months
-Successful completion of an EKG recognition and treatment certification within 6 months of entering this position
Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience for M/S float pool; 1 year CCU experience for the CCU float pool
