Grand Strand Medical Center is a progressive, growing facility located in a beautiful oceanfront community. Our facility offers the only cardiac surgery program in Horry and Georgetown counties and is also a designated trauma center.

We invite new graduates to apply for our StarRN New Graduate program! This is a 14 week program starting October 31, 2017 featuring didactic and clinical training. It allows new graduates to obtain acute care nursing experience through an intensive internship program, then transition to staff roles within the Grand Strand Medical Center Hospital. During the program you will be considered a PRN employee. At completion of the program you will transfer to Grand Strand Medical Center and your time in the StarRN Program will count towards your eligibility period for benefits when hired FT as an RN with the Hospital.

Program acceptance requires a minimum two (2) year commitment to the facility. Failure to meet this may result in repayment of facility investment.

Part 1 - Training facilitated in the First Seven (7) Weeks via:
• Instructor-led classroom training
• State-of-the-art simulation including comprehensive debriefs
• Self-directed learning

Part 2 - Clinical Preceptorship - Remaining Seven (7) Weeks
• Conducted at the hospital
• Regular development meetings between the student, the preceptor and your Director

• Benefit eligible after successful completion of the program. No waiting period
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • South Carolina RN Licensure required prior to program start
  • Previous medical or service industry experience preferred
  • BLS from American Heart Association required; ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
