The ECT staff nurse completes the admission and discharge process. Assists three times a week with ECT treatments, ensures policy and procedures for each treatment are followed and documented, and regulatory compliance is maintained. Ensures medication management guidelines are followed for each patientâ€™s treatment. Coordinates with the inpatient unit or outpatient referral any admission or ongoing ECT treatment requirements. Maintains a positive and collaborative relationship with physician groups, Assists with audits of ECT procedures, provides follow up calls to discharged patients. May be required to do some utilization management. Completes patient and family education.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse; ACLS Healthcare provider. CPI certification preferred.
Education: Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: 6 mos pre-post-operative nursing or ECT experience in the last 3-5 years, Comparable experience in medical nursing for 6 months
Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain healthy personal boundaries, protecting the therapeutic integrity of the nurse patient relationship. Knowledge of AIDET and customer service proficiency.
Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the nurse manager. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
