Incumbent is responsible for performing patient assessment, ventilator management, EKG's, holter hook up, stress hook up, routine therapies and providing for the care of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for Cardiopulmonary clerical duties. Provides in-service education. Works with students and new employees on competency check off. Able to work in all areas where cardiopulmonary services are required (including ICU, ED and nursery). Shift work and weekends are required.
Education: Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program with a minimum of an Associate's Degree.
Licensure/Certification: Must maintain current BLS. NRP required with in first 6 months of employment.. PALS and ACLS certification preferred. All practitioners must maintain a current SC state RCP license. Must be registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Experience: Experience in a hospital or outpatient clinic desirable but not required. Must have completed clinical rotation in school for all modes of therapy described in duties and responsibilities.
