JOB DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS
The Safety Data Programmer is responsible for providing programming support to GMS customers and business partners through report design, development, generation, tracking,
and research issues related to complex safety database searches that are not able to be completed utilizing the available safety data applications in support of periodic, operational, partner, audit, inspection, and regulatory ad hoc queries; Ensure that search algorithms are clearly and consistently documented and that quality checks are completed to ensure high quality outputs Adhere to expected company, agency regulations, and industry guidance.
The Safety Data Programmer will:
•Provide programming support to internal customers by creating high quality ad hoc outputs by utilizing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL techniques.
•Perform complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL coding for searches that cannot be performed using existing application software.
•Work on performance tuning of SQL and PL/SQL code.
•Ensure that search algorithms are clearly and consistently documented and that quality checks are completed to ensure high quality outputs.
•Work independently and as part of a small in-house team.
•A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline is required.
•A minimum of 2 years of work experience as an Oracle Developer required.
•Experience working in a pharmaceutical industry familiarity with MedDRA and Adverse Event reporting is preferred.
•Superior and proven problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, documentation, and communication skills are required.
•Experience providing programming support to internal customers by creating high quality ad hoc outputs by utilizing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL techniques
•Experience performing complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL coding for searches that cannot be performed using existing application software
•Experience working on performance tuning of SQL and PL/SQL code
•Experience ensuring that search algorithms are clearly and consistently documented and that quality checks are completed to ensure high quality outputs.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to details.
