Job Summary Provides support to the Safety Advisory group. Assists with the delivery of customized safety-related information.
Essential Functions •Promotes a "Safety Above All" culture.
•Ensures accurate and complete safety forms and documents within the Safety Advisory Center group.
•Assists with researching safety-related technologies and other advances in Safety Management per DOT and OSHA regulations.
•Assists with supporting safety quality initiatives and quality action teams (QAT's).
•Reviews safety-related internal control results related to company's compliance with and interpretation of federal, state, and local safety regulations and FedEx Ground Contract Service Provider, Independent Service Providers, and Linehaul agreements.
•Evaluates information received on Hazardous Materials Inquiries; determines necessary packaging, labeling, marking and documentation and directs customers/employees in proper procedures to ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations; including accurate interpretation of regulations
•Recommends accountability measures and compliance related to company's compliance with and interpretation of federal, state, and local safety regulations and FedEx Ground Contract Service Provider, Independent Service Providers, and Linehaul agreements.
•Works and recommends campaigns, programs and prevention efforts based on current trends and regulatory changes.
•Resolves routine issues and respond to questions related to policy, procedure, and regulations.
•On a limited basis, conducts training classes on various safety-related topics.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education •High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Logistics, transportation, business management or related fields preferred.
Minimum Experience •Two (2) years' experience in safety, logistics, or related field preferred.
Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure •Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies, and procedures related to safety.
•Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
•Customer service skills necessary to effectively and professionally respond to requests.
•Ability to develop effective methods for proofing and quality review to ensure all aspects of work are completed correctly.
•Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
