NYL’s Finance Technology SAP Team is seeking a suitably qualified Senior SAP Basis Administrator to implement, support and enhance the SAP  landscape supporting the common Finance platform on SAP and HANA as well as the SAP HR system. The individual in this role will be a significant participant in the technical inventory development for the NY Life Finance and HR supporting functions for the firm.

He/She will be part of a central team at the focal point of a focused revamping and transformational effort in implementing and improving shared SAP Basis Administration services for key business processes running on SAP-based systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in supporting SAP systems supporting Finance and Insurance business processes as an SAP Basis Administrator with a Thorough understanding of Basis Administration layer in a multi-system SAP eco-system  with respect to installations, troubleshooting, dependencies, patching/updates and upgrades and Disaster Recovery procedures
  • 3+ implementations encompassing installations, upgrades, patching, stabilization of NW ( ECC, Insurance Analyzer/Bank Analyzer, Portal, PI/XI, GRC, IDM, BOBJ, NWBC, Fiori, Solution Manager) in support of Finance/Insurance and HR modules
  • Configuration of load-balancing, STMS in SAP a . Configuration of SSO and integration with tools such as LDAP, DataPower etc. a
  • In-depth understanding of the Application Life cycle Management in HANA – implementation, troubleshooting, CTS+ set up items, performance tuning and change management of HANA-based objects
  • Experience in supporting Basis administration tasks (setup, troubleshooting, monitoring/CCMS) for Solution Manager 7.x+ (ChaRM, system and landscape monitoring, configuration, RFCs, jobs)
  • Supporting platform and/or database migration experience a HUGE plus
  • Experienced with leading and/or mentoring On-shore/off-shore teams
  • Some basic understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance- Strategy management related to SAP Basis Administration within a tier-1 application
  • Experience in supporting audit facing off with both internal and external auditors to ensure that the Basis Administration area in all in-scope SAP systems are audit compliant
  • Demonstrable experience working with other support teams (networking, storage, DBA, cloud/external providers, change management, QA, Scheduling teams)
  • Experienced in SAP change management utilizing ChaRM and supporting testing, documentation and audit
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with other teams and in some cases, the business directly on gathering requirements, designing solutions and troubleshooting
  • Availability to work in and managing shifts as needed for project work and/or production support on a globally diverse team
  • Building and maintaining up-to-date knowledge about company and industry trends and strategy, and advising customers on approaches to optimize business success.
  • This position is based in NYL’s ATLANTA DATA CENTER and may require occasional travel to other locations
