SAS Platform Architect will be responsible for providing overall SAS platform Architecture and Administrative support. Primary duties include maintenance enhancements installation and support quick architecture changes for SAS Model Risk Management setup in a multi-tier environment with Red Hat Linux Operating system. This person will also be responsible for a new implementation and platform support of SAS GRID environment. Also includes providing SAS platform security management SAS application and underlying infrastructure support and ensuring processes are aligned and complaint with internal policies as well as regulatory requirements.
The SAS Architect servers as a liaison between SAS User community IT management and Enterprise Architecture team. Will ensure appropriate delivery of technology solutions (performance tuning capacity and utilization backups disaster recovery user support training and documentation) in accordance with business requirements and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • \t\tAdministration Maintenance and tuning for SAS Model Risk Management.

  • \t\tMaintain SAS Visual Analytics environment ability to design data queries and Visualizations.
  • \t
  • \t\tSAS LASR analytics server management of memory and system health.
  • \t
  • \t\tSAS platform GRID Manager and over all platform Architecture.
  • \t
  • \t\tFormulate and build a SAS COE to support overall needs across all SAS user groups within the company.

  • \t\tPerform new installations as required and ability to handle version upgrades.
  • \t
  • \t\tApplies maintenance releases and hot fixes as required.
  • \t
  • \t\tDesigns solutions to reduce the operational and management complexity of the platform.
  • \t
  • \t\tDesigns implements and maintains platform security via SAS Metadata and Red Hat Linux.

  • \t\tPerforms platform capacity planning and management.
  • \t
  • \t\tServes as an escalation point for escalated production and/or platform issues.
  • \t
  • \t\tExecuting change control and promotions activities.
  • \t
  • \t\tEstablishes best practices and guidelines for usage of the SAS platform.
  • \t
  • \t\tExpertise in setup of queues prioritization Manage jobs and thresholds.
  • \t
  • \t\tExperience with troubleshooting and configuration of SAS Grid environment/components.
  • \t
  • \t\tEnsures the overall health of the SAS platform.
  • \t
  • \t\tAbility to handle vendor related activities working with SAS institute's account management team to ensure the products functionalities and capabilities are properly supported and functional.

  • \t\tAbility to manage and train developers and or team members.
  • \t
  • \t\tStrong experience with Enterprise Guide reporting ability to help users with reporting set up by organizing and securing their data.

  • \t\tAbility to help end users with any SAS programming related issues.

  • \t\tImplementing administering and supporting SAS Model Risk Management and / or other Enterprise SAS Products / other Analytics products

  • \t\tSAS Visual Analytics - load data design queries and develop visualizations. Manage SAS LASR analytics servers.

  • \t\tSAS Grid functionality - load balancing resource management setup of queues prioritization manage jobs and thresholds

  • \t\tProvide leadership and direction as it relates to design and implementation for the SAS platform

  • \t\tTechnical Architect and global point of contact for all SAS Administrator related projects and activities.
  • \t
  • \t\tOwn and drive the SAS Product patching and release upgrade activity and act as liaison to SAS for any support issues
  • \t
  • \t\tProvide maintenance and support for SAS products during deployment upgrade and any changes to SAS products and/ or during other enterprise activities that impact SAS infrastructure
  • \t
  • \t\tManage and track SAS products inventory and license updates for SAS servers and end users
  • \t
  • \t\tProvide all levels of technical and application support; incident management (Level 1 2 and 3); address user application and data issues.

  • \t\tManage the configuration support and maintenance of the SAS platform
  • \t
  • \t\tOversee recommend and implement appropriate solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance
  • \t
  • \t\tMonitor usage logs to assist in performance tuning of the systems and servers
  • \t
  • \t\tCreate SDLC documentation and ensure alignment to overall SDLC and Change Management processes
  • \t
  • \t\tConform to system architecture standards and practices and work with outsourced suppliers as required to keep up to date with enabling technologies
  • \t
  • \t\tInterface directly with various IT functional areas as it pertains to SAS platform Administration
  • \t
  • \t\tPerform installation upgrade and configuration of SAS technology products on all supported server environments.
  • \t
  • \t\tMonitor the overall availability and performance of the current SAS technology server environments and take corrective actions as necessary to insure peak operational performance.
  • \t
  • \t\tWork with the SAS user community; perform periodic code reviews to ensure that SAS applications are utilizing efficient design principles and adhering to internally published best practices.
  • \t
  • \t\tProvide solution assistance to ensure that the most appropriate SAS technology is selected to satisfy the business requirement and to provide user assistance during early phases of the project lifecycle.

  • \t\tContribute to the development of standards and operating procedures for the SAS environments and the development of new service offerings to ensure that the user community receives the highest levels of support.

  • \t\tResponsible for providing SAS technical support to end users and implementing new SAS technical solutions including:

  • \t\tHelping to establish coding standards and best practices. Supporting SAS developers with coding issues.
  • \t
  • \t\tExecute change management processes surrounding new releases of SAS functionality.
  • \t
  • \t\tEvaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies to assist with change management and perform upgrades of the SAS environment when necessary.

  • \t\tStrong analytical communication teamwork and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
  • \t
  • \t\tRecommend and organize user forums regularly to discuss product capabilities and challenges future functionality such that product utilization is maximized.

  • \t\tBachelors degree in an applicable field
  • \t
  • \t\tMinimum 6 years experience and subject matter expertise in SAS systems architecture
  • \t
  • \t\tMinimum 4 years expereience SAS Product ownership support and
