SBA Managers/Market Credit Executives (MCE) are accountable for meeting the SBA loan production targets for their assigned markets/bankers. They do this by developing loan volume for their bankers via targeted SBA marketing activities (SBA MCEs do not book loans themselves). SBA MCEs also coach their assigned bankers on SBA sales strategies and help bring their bankers' SBA loans to closing.
Referral Network Development -- Create and execute calling strategies targeting referral sources for SBA loans such as CDCs, real estate brokers, SBDCs, accountants, and attorneys. They would use these referral networks to source new business for their assigned business bankers as the SBA MCEs are not on production.
Community-Based External Marketing Activities -- Create and execute community-based programs such as SBA Lending Seminars that will generate loan volume for their assigned bankers while also enabling the bank and bankers to meet CRA goals. SBA MCE's will jointly develop external marketing with the Head of SBA Lending.
Joint Calls with Bankers – Available to conduct joint customer calls to customers with SBA loan opportunities. The SBA MCE will coach the bankers on the SBA products as well their SBA sales approach to customers and prospects
Develop verticals within the SBA space -- Opens up new sources of business that we have never pursued before. For example, franchises and hotels are two types of lending that we can do via SBA. The SBA MCE will cultivate referral networks for these specialized loan types. SBA MCEs provide feedback to the SBA Production team regarding policy/procedure enhancements and market conditions.
Banker Training -- Conduct regular training on SBA updates, policy changes, procedural changes, etc.

- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
- At least 5 years of business lending experience
- At least 5 years of SBA lending experience
- 10 years of business lending experience
