We are seeking a motivated and productive Scientist with a strong understanding of NMR and MS based small molecule structure determination.  The candidate will oversee open access NMR and MS instruments.  Opportunities will exist to perform research activities (in particular metabolomics), initiate and develop new ideas and assays.  The required scientific skills include attention to detail, significant experience in laboratory management, efficient scientific writing and reporting capability.


The Scientist will be responsible for:

  • Specific tasks would include performing structural verification of medicinal chemistry molecules, designing experiments, processing data, analyzing data and preparing reports, and communicating results
  • Overseeing smooth operation of open access instrumentation
  • Maintaining electronic laboratory notebook
  • Reviewing literature to support discovery teams

  • PhD in chemistry or a related discipline with at least 3 years of hands on laboratory experience is required.
  • It is required that the candidate be able to conduct research experiments, including trouble shooting with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Bruker NMR spectrometers and software is required.
  • Familiarity with Agilent LC-MS and Mass Hunter software is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience and theoretical understanding of NMR is required.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with MS techniques is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and writing reports is required.
  • Must have good communication skills to understand customer needs and to verbalize experimental results.
  • Experience in drug discovery environment is preferred.
