Here, everyone matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission. As a Scientist I, Molecular Pathology working on the Molecular Pathology you will be empowered to use data to help drive molecules into the clinic, and a typical day will include:

OBJECTIVES:

  • Provide scientific expertise for state-of-the-art oncology pathology/biomarker analysis for discovery stage and early clinical stage therapeutics
  • Represent Molecular Pathology as a member of project teams to contribute departmental expertise and data to help drive molecules into the clinic
  • Establish scientific methodology for target and antibody validation, and mechanism of action analysis using slide-based expression.
  • Engage in collaborations with related functions including protein sciences, pharmacology, FLOW-based profiling and bioinformatics


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop immunohistochemistry and fluorescence assays, visualization and analysis methods to assess complex cellular phenotypes including immune cell involvement in pre-clinical and clinical tissue samples
  • Perform and manage experimental execution, data presentation and interpretation for target tissue mapping and mechanism of action/biomarker analyses for specific projects/targets
  • Provide scientific insight and collaborate with project teams to design and execute research strategies supporting target/drug interactions, identification of immune components in model systems, and biomarker identification and validation
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with pathology colleagues as well as cell biologists, pharmacologists, information technologists and external partners in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment
  • Appropriately document and report data to support regulatory filings




Qualifications:


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • PhD with >3 years post doctoral research and > 3 years experience in an industry setting related to mechanism of action, pharmacodynamic, and translational strategies for antibody conjugate based or immuno-oncology therapeutics
  • Extensive knowledge of oncology biology, including immuno-oncology, and preclinical/clinical histology/pathology
  • Demonstrated expertise in histology/biomarker techniques relevant to oncology drug discovery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Record of cross-functional collaboration, as well as some project management capabilities
  • Experience in automated assay development and analysis of human and animal tissue specimens


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attendance at scientific conferences or technology workshops (1 per year)
