The Department of Oncology and Inflammation Research is seeking a Scientist to investigate mechanisms of immune mediated pathogenesis in cancer, autoimmune, and inflammatory diseases, and to discover and develop innovative therapies to treat these diseases. The candidate will independently lead a laboratory group as well as project teams, and will collaborate with other research scientists at multiple Amgen sites, including teams in other functional areas such as Therapeutic Discovery, Medical Sciences, and Computational Biology. The candidate will perform cutting-edge research that integrates human genetics, immunology and oncology, and will develop novel therapies by using various innovative technologies and approaches. In addition, the candidate will be expected to publish and to present at national/international conferences.
Doctorate degree OR Master's degree & 4 years of scientific experience OR Bachelor's degree & 6 years of scientific experience
- PhD or MD, with postdoctoral training and research experience in the fields of immunology, oncology, cancer immunotherapy, microbiology, molecular biology or human genetics.
- Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the area of immunology or oncology.
